Set Lambert Coordinates

The Set Lambert Coordinates window allows you to define the Lambert coordinates of some point on the grid or on your background image. Setting Lambert coordinates is not necessary for most models. Knowledge of some reference point in Lambert coordinates is required, however, in order to export a capture zone in Lambert coordinates for display in Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) or Geographic Information System (GIS) programs (See the Export Capture Zone in Lambert Coordinates command under the File menu and Chapter 4).

The Set Lambert Coordinates window includes four text boxes, two for specifying the x and y Lambert coordinate and two for specifying the x and y coordinates relative to the upper left corner of the Model window in model units. The window also includes Set and Finished buttons. The cursor over the Model window changes to a crosshair when the Set Lambert Coordinates window is displayed. Clicking on any point in the Model window will display the model coordinates of that point in model units in their respective text boxes. Alternately, you could directly enter the model coordinates (in model units) into the text boxes. Enter the reference Lambert coordinates in their respective text boxes. The reference Lambert coordinates are set to coincide with the model coordinates only when the Set button is clicked.
