Paste Row Coordinates Paste Row Coordinates converts text data on the clipboard into the spacing between rows. Many MODFLOW input files have hard carriage returns at points that may not coincide with the end of data for column or row spacing. The Paste Row Coordinates command ignores hard carriage returns. Open an existing MODFLOW input file in a word processing program. Copy the array specifying row spacing (delc), then paste the data into Graphic Groundwater with the Paste Row Coordinates command. The command sets the spacing between horizontal grid lines of any existing grid (adding or deleting lines if necessary) with the data on the clipboard. If no grid exists, Graphic Groundwater will draw a line across the left edge of the Model window with tick marks at horizontal gridlines. You can then complete the grid by adding vertical lines through the Variable Grid window, or by applying the Paste Column Coordinates command. A comma, at least one blank space, or tab character must separate values in the MODFLOW input file. Graphic Groundwater will not complete the transfer if any of the characters on the clipboard are not numeric. You can also create the grid spacing with a word processor or spreadsheet. This is often convenient for complex grids. For example, suppose you need to create a model where each row is 1.5 times larger than the row above it (as it appears on the screen). You could use the capabilities of a spreadsheet to quickly create a row or column of numbers with this property. Copy the values from the spreadsheet, then use the Paste Row Coordinates command to create the variably spaced rows in Graphic Groundwater.
