Paste Cell Status

The Paste Cell Status command converts text data on the clipboard into cell status for the current layer. The command interprets any positive integer as an active cell, a negative integer as a constant head cell, and a value of zero as an inactive cell. The standard Paste command treats hard carriage returns in text data as a signal to change rows. Many MODFLOW input files, however, have hard carriage returns at points that may not coincide with the end of a row. The Paste Cell Status command ignores hard carriage returns. This command also ignores any selected cells. Instead, the command transfers data starting in cell (1,1) and continues to paste first across all the columns then down rows until no data remains on the clipboard. Open an existing MODFLOW input file in a word processing program. Copy the cell status array for a particular layer, then paste the data into any overlay within Graphic Groundwater with the Paste Cell Status command. A comma, at least one blank space, or tab character must separate values in the MODFLOW input file. Graphic Groundwater will not complete the transfer if any of the data on the clipboard are real numbers.
