Export Grid The Export Grid command displays a Windows Save As dialog box. This command exports the grid lines in a Drawing Exchange (dxf) format, with the coordinates expressed relative to an origin in the lower left corner of the grid. Many Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can read dxf formats, an ASCII file that contains graphic entities. Most Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) programs can also read this format. The Save As dialog box allows you to choose the range of the grid to export, what to export, and the maximum dimension of the exported image. You should specify the maximum dimension in units suitable for your graphics program. Many of these programs default to inches, so if you want an image that has a maximum dimension of eight inches, you should enter the number 8 in the text box. Type in the name of the file. Graphic Groundwater will add the dxf extension. This is a very important command for output from Graphic Groundwater. Consult Chapter 4 for more information on how to best utilize this feature. |
