Graphic Groundwater is a graphical interface for United States Geological Survey (USGS) groundwater modeling programs. The program runs under Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT environments and supports the modular three-dimensional finite-difference groundwater flow model (MODFLOW; McDonald and Harbaugh, 1988) and some features of the particle tracking program (MODPATH; Pollock, 1989). The program is designed to simplify model development and data input for groundwater modeling, to let you develop maps and diagrams within Graphic Groundwater, and to provide graphic and text files which can be processed outside Graphic Groundwater. Graphic Groundwater can import a graphic background images for georeferencing a grid system, import text data from MODFLOW and MODPATH or other input files, export elements of the grid or data to simplify post-processing and allow you can take advantage of more sophisticated contouring, Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) or Geographic Information System (GIS) software. You might want to browse the Graphic Groundwater Manual to get a feel for the program capabilities. The current compiled code, formally known as version 3, still contains some bugs that will cause flaky behavior or even an occasional crash. Save your work often. Download Graphic Groundwater Version 3.47 (about 3.3 MB) Periodically, this site will have a link for an update to version 3.47. The update file will usually have a much smaller size than the full installation file, but the update will require a pervious installation of version 3.47 (or later). Download Graphic Groundwater Version 3.52 (about 500 KB) Please send me an email message to register. Also, be sure to inform me of any bugs you find. I cannot duplicate all possible situations in testing the program. I need your input. |
